The potential of FAR-UVC LIGHT
UV light can kill harmful pathogens and is at the right wave-length not harmful to humans
The illustration to the left shows the UV Spectrum that naturally occurs in nature. Most of the wavelengths, also the UVC wavelengths, are filtered out in the upper layer of the atmosphere and never reach the earth. However, over the past decades UVC lights have been widely used all around the world to disinfect rooms and surfaces as they are strongly effective in killing pathogens. While most of the UVC wavelengths are also harmful to humans, it has recently been discovered that a small range between 190-230nm cannot penetrate human skin or retina and is therefore not harmful to humans or animals. This UV spectrum between 190-230nm is called far-UVC light.
While it is safe to humans, as it cannot penetrate the skin, it still is able to kill germs, like bacteria, viruses, or mold, since these microorganisms do not have safety layers like the skin to defend themselves.
Multi fixture arrangements
The UV radiation emitter ensures the bacterial and viral inactivation of a room volume of up to 150 (6m x 6m x 4m) cubic meters. If there is a need to inactivate larger rooms bacterially or virally, it is possible to operate two or more UV emitters at the same time by arranging them in a grid-like or grid-like manner depending on the room size and room design.
The choice of rectangular arrangements is recommended for quasi-static or rectangular rooms. The choice of triangular arrangements of the beam emitters is recommended for round or polygonal and irregularly designed rooms. On this basis, optimal illumination of irregularly designed rooms is guaranteed.
The operation module
The UV radiation emitter is equipped with the functionality to generate the inactivating UVC radiation both as omnidirectional radiation and as sectoral radiation. For this purpose, the UVC radiation field is generated over eight sectors, each one with radiation half-width of 45 g in the azimuthal plane. On this basis, omnidirectional illumination in the azimuthal plane is guaranteed with simultaneous operation of all eight sectors.
